Toms River environmental firm marks 20 years in business as owner Philip Brilliant receives Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce honor
TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Brilliant Environmental Services, LLC is celebrating a milestone year in 2026 with its 20th anniversary, the launch of a redesigned website at https://brilliantenvironmental.com, and the announcement that founder and owner Philip I. Brilliant, CHMM, LSRP, has been named the 2026 Citizen of the Year by the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce.
Founded in 2006, Brilliant Environmental Services provides environmental consulting and remediation services to homeowners, businesses, developers, municipalities, attorneys, institutions, and other clients throughout New Jersey.
“This anniversary is really about the people who helped build Brilliant,” said Phil Brilliant. “Our clients, employees, colleagues, and community partners have all played a role in getting us here. Being named Citizen of the Year during our 20th anniversary makes this an especially meaningful year.”
The Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce will recognize Brilliant at its Annual Awards on November 5, 2026, at Argos Farm in Forked River. The honor recognizes his longstanding commitment to the community through local business organizations, nonprofit service, and professional education.
In addition to leading Brilliant Environmental Services, Phil is the co-founder and CFO of Continuing Professional Education Services (CPES), a New Jersey nonprofit that provides continuing education and professional development programs for environmental professionals and other licensed practitioners. He has also been nominated for Best Boss in the Ocean County Community Choice Awards, adding another meaningful recognition during the company’s milestone year.
As part of its 20th anniversary, Brilliant Environmental Services has launched a new website designed to make it easier for clients to understand environmental issues, explore services, review completed projects, and access educational resources. The site also features the Simply Brilliant podcast and radio show, where Phil shares commentary on local business, community issues, environmental topics, nonprofits, and public policy affecting Ocean County and communities across New Jersey.
